The Sedrin Project

Welcome to the site of the Sedrin project. A project that aims to help Roma children to complete their primary education.

We decided to tackle this problem by training the Roma women to act as intermediators between the Roma children and the school.

Aims:

- to train the Roma women on how to prepare better their children in order to go to school, on the basis of the methodology developed

 

NOTES

 

- Training in each partner country (with the exception of Cyprus)

 

- 20 women in the whole consortium

 

- Women are going to be paid for the hours they receive training

 

- Trainers should have very much experience in working with Roma communities (preferably to be Roma themselves) but also experience in training

 

- Roma women should have a minimum of school education and be enthusiastic and dedicated to the process of the preparation of the Roma children to go to school

 

 

ACTIVITIES

 

- Training of trainers in the methodology workshop

 

- Production of practical guidelines of the training of the Roma women

 

- Selection of the women that are going to participate in the workshops

 

- Training workshops

 

- Reports on the training

 

- Comparative Training Report

 

- Revision of the Methodology
