Secretariado Diocesano de Lisboa da Obra Nacional da Pastoral dos Ciganos - The numerous initiatives undertaken, include the creation of The Journal CARAVAN, the National Gypsy Day (June 24) and projects of training and promoting Roma children and women.
There are several national and international pilgrimages for Roma; numerous events to promote Roma culture and raise awareness of the social problems of Roma with the majority of the society, among which the highlight was the achievement in 1998: an International Exhibition of Gypsy Culture (EXPOCIG '98). We are also supporting the creation of several associations of Gypsies and recently the Federation Calhim (Cigana em Romanó) Portuguese (FECALP). This association was created to support the Forum on the Iberian Roma.
